I’m Horrible, an Update

17 Feb

I’ve been a bad blogger. Accepting that let move on. It’s been almost a full year and lots has changed primarily that I currently find my self living abroad in Scotland! I’ve been here for a little under 2 months on exchange and I’m loving it, but I feel like thats a story for another blog at another time.

Reading! 2013 was a crap reading year I read 36 of my goal of 50. Maybe I aimed high I only really got back in to reading in 2012 after 4 or 5 years of only reading maybe 5-10 books a year? But in 2012 I read just under 30 books over the summer so 50 seemed possible! But the summer of 2013 I think I maybe read 10 books.

opps

I never did finish War of the Worlds. I got about half way through it just never hooked me and I fell out of it. One day I’ll go back and finish it, I mean it isn’t long and I didn’t hate it but it just wasn’t the time for it.

So what (classics) did I read since last posting? .. up until 2014 ..

“Madame Bovary”, Gustave Flaubert

“Night Walks”, Charles Dickens

“Speak, Memory”, Vladamir Nabokov

“Where I Lived, and What I Lived For”, Henry David Thoreau

“My Antonia”, Willa Cather

“Portnoy’s Complaint”, Philip Roth

“Wuthering Heights”, Emily Bronte

“A Passage to India”, E.M Forster

“The Odyssey”, Homer

“The Bell Jar”, Silvia Plath

and I reread “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”, “Prince Caspian”, and “The Horse and His Boy” by C.S Lewis.

So where do we go from here. Well I’m going to give this blogging another shot, school over here in Scotland isn’t as demanding as I’m used to and I find I have more free time so hopefully this break is enough time for me to develop a blogging habit. I’m thinking in line with writing about what I’m currently reading I want to do shorter mini reviews of the classics I read in the last year to keep up with the classics club. We will just have to wait and see what ends up happening.

So here’s looking forward to more consistent blogging in the future!
